BB90 is the Trek oversized bottom bracket standard and is only found on Trek road bikes. The shell is 90.5mm wide and is designed to work with 24mm spindles and road cranks and have the bearings inside the shell. The CeramicSpeed Bearings come as two bearings, which are then pressed into the frame. Those two bearings consist of either CeramicSpeed Standard or Coated Bearings. Both feature super smooth, super-round CeramicSpeed Balls contained in hardened-steel races. The Coated version has a metallic coating laid onto the races, making it even smoother and harder, resulting in lower drag and longer life. -BB90 is simple and light. The standard is designed to work with 24mm spindles. The bearings work with Shimano and other 24mm cranks, like FSA. - The CeramicSpeed Standard Bearings last at least 3 times longer than other bearings. That's thanks to hardened-steel races and CeramicSpeed Balls that are 100% smoother & 15% harder than the ceramic competition. These bearings have a frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set, which represents an average 75% drag reduction compared to stock BBs. - The CeramicSpeed Coated Bearings reduce drag by 50% compared to Standard Bearings and an improvement in bearing life of 60%. The EVO386 standard is designed for oversized spindles. CeramicSpeed's kit for Shimano allows you to install Shimano or FSA cranks with 24mm spindles. The cups come with CeramicSpeed Bearings installed. Both CeramicSpeed Standard and Coated Bearings are available. Both utilize super smooth CeramicSpeed Balls and hardened-steel races. The latter has an additional metallic coating on the races to further smooth and harden the steel, further increasing life and lowering drag. The design of overlapping cups extending through the shell for EVO386 reduce the likelihood of creaking and increase the reliability of the system. The CeramicSpeed Standard Bearings feature an average drag reduction of 75% compared to stock bottom brackets. That translates into frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set, which is the result of great design, hardened-steel races, and ceramic balls that are 100% smoother and 15% harder than the ceramic competition. The CeramicSpeed Coated Bearings are a step up as they reduce drag by 50% compared to our Standard Bearings and an improvement in bearing life by 60%. All Round Grease comes standard in the bearings, but can be replaced for lower drag TT and Track Grease or higher durability LongLife Grease, which adds a bit of drag but stays in the bearing when riding through messy conditions.
